ALL WORK AND NO PLAY MAKES SHAWN A DULL GIRL

As you can see from these pictures, I definitely am NOT a dull girl :)  I've been able to mix a lot of work and play (sometimes at the same time) recently....
This is what happens when you go in service with boys...

I had another great pix of Jocelyn about to drop under the weight of a toddler-sized papaya, but I lost it!
I haven't joined a gang. But I HAVE learned that if you want to ride in the back of someone's truck without eating your hair for lunch and burning your scalp...wear a kerchief.

Shelina and I having fun on the way to one of her studies one day.  How amazing that this is the view, right?!

    1. Crazily, most of these pix were taken while pioneering. I'm definitely not taking my service too seriously... :)

  3. HI Shawn, I have been reading your blog for over a year now with much interest!! You make it very real! My husband and I are planning on serving where the need is great and were keen on South America, particularly in the English field, we are learning Spanish (trying to!!) but its proving a bit of a battle for my husband, are you able to send us a contact email for the coordinator of the English congregation/s so that we can ask him about the need in Nicaragua in the English field? We would really appreciate your help. thank you, Yvonne

    1. Yvonne, there are at least 5 English congregations in Nicaragua. More if you count all those along the east coast where English is mainly spoken. So, in other words, there are many coordinators. I'll try to get some info about the English C.O. for you. BUT...since you're learning Spanish, MAYBE you could help us here! Just saying....

  4. Hi Shawn....My wife and I came across your blog after considering Nicaragua in our 'spying out the land'. We love the info and pics...and your sense of humor !! You mentioned the San Juan del sur area....is that still a English congregation? We'd love to hear more from you regarding your travels....we have contacted Brother Gracia...the CO and are putting together a 'spying trip' for later this summer. Any info is appreciated! Is it ok if I give our e-mail here? bluesky@ntelos.net....Thanks...Don & Susan
