DECEMBER 25, 2014 I TURNED IN MY APPLICATION FOR THE SCHOOL FOR KINGDOM EVANGELIZERS!!!!
Yes, I'm scared to death. My tummy does little flip flops every time I really start thinking about things. I have major questions like:
- Is there a chance I can go in English or will I have to cram major studying in Spanish for 2 months?
- Will I even get invited?
- Will I stay in my assignment?
- Will my roommate and I get separated?
- What if I end up with a crazy new roommate?
- What if I hate my new assignment?
- What if I have to learn another language?
I'm really trying to apply Matthew 6 and not be anxious…especially because it has to do with such an exciting subject! But the truth is that I could use a few prayers from everyone :)
Overall I just decided that being scared isn't a good reason NOT to do something. We ladies have been grumbling and begging for an opportunity like this ever since Gilead started taking couples only, so I feel foolish to have the circumstances and the opportunity and NOT take it.
Yay!! Good for you. We turned ours in again too. I already have a crazy roommate so I don't have to worry about that - lol!! That's great that you turned it in. Like someone said to me once, if you qualify, apply, and Jehovah will decide where he wants you. But if you don't apply for things, he can't invite you. I'll keep you in my prayers. Try not to worry about it until it happens!
ReplyDelete1- Maybe
ReplyDelete2- Of Course!
3- Probably
4- Not if #3 is yes
5- Most definitely(at least during the school)
6- Not possible
7- Then you do
There, all your questions answered. Stop worrying! Glad I could help.
U guys make it sound so easy!
DeleteExcellent! So proud of you!! you will do fabulous when you are accepted!!! Love you!!!
ReplyDeleteLove u too, Brenna. Thanks for the encouragement
Deletewhat wonderful news Shawn!! i was just talking to the instructor here in memphis (a couple of weeks ago) about you and what you were currently doing. I told him that i had a strong feeling that you would be applying very soon. you're awesome and amazing! Jehovah is so proud of you- like all of us are.
ReplyDeleteWho's the instructor? U know me so well, Flecky
Deleteshawn- his name is something like Philiche Piscapone (he's instructing the spanish school here in Memphis). he has a relative (niece, grandchild, etc) living in San Juan Del Sur (or something like that). i know it's south of you.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness i just saw this comment from your friend Melissa. She's talking about Felice Episcopo i bet. He was our DO in Spanish in the States and him and his wife are the most amazing couple ever. He also taught Charley's one-week elders school in Spanish in Indy. Melissa, if you're seeing this, and you think you'll see Felice again, please tell him Charley and Rachel Matthews send their love. I don't know if he'll remember us, but you can show him a pic on our blog at www.indybrits.com if you feel so inclined. I would love to find out what family member he has down here. They have quite a few kids and grandkids. Sorry, I get excited! He had such an impact, both of them did. Absolutely loved them!
DeleteOh my goodness! Brother Episcopo and his wife have been dear family friends of ours for more than 30 years and he even married my mom and dad! How small the world is!
DeleteThat is great Shawn!! It's wonderful to have so many avenues of service open up especially to include single sisters! Good for you just for "going for it". Jehovah will direct you of course. Whatever way it goes, just think of it as more training for the best life ever! Chante' G

ReplyDeleteWow, this is really exciting! And I'm actually pretty glad you're nervous because I'm about to turn in a Bethel application and knowing that someone is as nervous as me right now makes me feel better (haha, that sounds mean, I'm sorry). I really hope you get accepted!
ReplyDeleteSomeone in DR is giving you two thumbs up right now!

Are you applying to DR or US Bethel? I hope they accept your app :) Sometimes I get the itch to apply to Bethel too, but I'm not sure right now in life. I'll check out your blog.
